SALT RIVER PIMA-MARICOPA INDIAN COMMUNITY, Ariz. (Dec. 6, 2016) – Talking Stick Resort will welcome blues and rock guitarist Jimmie Vaughan back to The Showroom stage on Friday, March 24, 2017. The Fabulous Thunderbirds founder, who has played with blues royalty such as BB King, Albert King and Buddy Guy, will enthrall crowds with hits from his 14 studio albums.
Vaughan, often referred to as one of the most respected guitarists in the world of popular music, first gained acclaim in the mid-1970s and is credited with spearheading a decades-long blues revival in the U.S. Throughout his career, he has earned four Grammy awards, the most recent of which came in 2001 on the heels of his third solo release, Do You Get the Blues?
In July 2010, Vaughan released his first studio album in nine years, entitled Plays Blues, Ballads & Favorites. That same year, he was invited to perform on Conan O’Brien’s TBS show and he played with Eric Clapton, Robert Cray and more at the Crossroads Guitar Festival. In addition to his own solo and group work, Vaughan has made guests appearances on albums such as B.B. King and Eric Clapton’s Riding With The King and Bob Dylan’s Under The Red Sky.
Tickets for Jimmie Vaughan will be available online and at the Talking Stick Resort Box Office. Please call (480) 850-7777 or visit http://www.talkingstickresort.com/comedian-kathleen-madigan.aspx for more information. Must be 21 or older to attend.
