Garland Jeffreys has been called an edgy urban poet, the
sound of New York, a confessional singer-songwriter, and an explorer of the
links between rock, race and rebellion whose work should be taught in schools.
His songs have been covered by artists as diverse as punk pioneers The Circle
Jerks (“Wild in the Streets”) and the
neo-folk band Vetiver (“Lon Chaney”).
He’ll be performing one night only at Talking Stick Resort on Friday, December
7.
Jeffreys will perform fan favorites including “96 Tears,”
“Matador” and “Wild in the Streets” as well as songs from his newest release The King of in Between. This album is
the work of a mature artist and the distillation of Garland Jeffreys’ long
career dedicated to addressing socially conscious themes across a broad range
of musical styles. Jeffreys is truly unclassifiable, so don’t miss out on this
exciting show.
